About Rep. Andrew Engell

Andrew has lived in the Colville area since early childhood. He has experience in welding, construction, farming, and managing affordable housing units. He knows what it means to work with his hands and he will bring that work ethic to Olympia as he serves the residents of the 7th Legislative District.

Engell also worked for more than seven years for former Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, travelling around Eastern Washington meeting with individuals, small businesses, local government officials and employees, associations, and stakeholders in many groups and organizations. He has a passion for people and for making their lives better!

Andrew’s priorities in Olympia are:

  • Supporting law enforcement and enhancing public safety;
  • Pushing back against tax increases and burdensome regulations;
  • Ensuring parents’ rights to direct their children’s education;
  • Protecting the Second Amendment;
  • Making it easier to manage our forests and fight wildfires;
  • Addressing our severe lack of housing by streamlining permitting and cutting unnecessary regulations on construction;
  • Supporting Veterans and ensuring they get the benefits they have earned;
  • Ensure rural common sense drives policy decisions.

Andrew is an ardent believer in the right to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of the American Dream. Despite many citizens losing hope and feeling disenfranchised by their state government, Engell brings a joyful and encouraging passion to restore the proper role of government: “Of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

Engell lives in Colville with his wife, Celeste, and their four children.
